User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) historically have been visual design practices. Experts in this field are working towards a graphical user interface (GUI) designed to ease comprehension and navigation of visible content. As we alluded to in our introductory blog post about voice, vocal interface (VI) and vocal experience (VX) design practices are more like copywriting activities, where experts are working to define the language and elements of conversation that will most quickly bring a user the desired information or outcome.

The Alexa Conference was hosted in Chattanooga, TN in January. COLAB sent a team to learn more about what was happening in the voice community. We discovered some interesting Skills, some fascinating concepts, and some amazing stats about the market for voice experiences and voice-enabled devices. Here are the highlights.
Having built an Alexa Skill and beginning to become more involved in voice experiences, it is obvious to us that voice experience is going to be a critical aspect of our technological future. Given the rapid adoption of smart speakers and similar devices in homes and businesses across America, voice experience is already becoming a part of our everyday lives. We believe that trend will not only continue, but that voice become a part of every digital experience we encounter – not just limited to smart speakers and smartphones. This is a fundamentally new world, and we’re excited to be a part of it.
Intranets can be tricky. As the CEO of a digital agency, I often hear from companies who have implemented expensive, complicated intranet platforms that go unused by their employees, despite the potential value of such a system.
COLAB earned the rank of 3707 on the 2018 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses.
COLAB was a finalist for the 2018 Richmond Technology: Innovation in Technology Builder Award. This is awarded to local technology companies that deliver technology solutions that build capacity and increase operational efficiency.
