Pressable Agency
The WordPress team behind your Pressable sites.
Pressable runs the infrastructure. It does not build your templates, fix your forms, or decide what the site should do next. COLAB is the agency organizations bring in for that work, from migration onto Pressable through custom WordPress development and the ongoing support that follows launch. We manage Pressable hosting through Automattic for Agencies, so the platform and the work on top of it come from one place.
Who we work with on Pressable
We work with organizations where the website carries real weight day to day, and where a hosting account on its own was never going to be the answer.
- Organizations already hosted on Pressable who need a development team, not another hosting account
- Marketing and communications teams whose site was built by an agency that has since moved on
- Healthcare systems, credit unions, and nonprofits moving off shared or legacy hosting onto managed WordPress
- Teams running a multisite network or several related sites on a single Pressable plan
- WooCommerce stores where checkout reliability matters more than the theme
- Organizations Pressable has pointed toward an agency for build, migration, or support work
What we do on Pressable
Scope varies by engagement. Most start with one of these and grow into the others as the relationship settles.
Performance work
Caching, query, and asset tuning measured against field data, so the numbers hold up on the pages people visit rather than just a single test run.
WordPress development
Custom block themes, patterns, and plugins built for the Pressable environment, with Git deploys and CI/CD wired into a review process your team can actually follow.
Multisite and WooCommerce
Network architecture, shared pattern libraries, and checkout monitoring for organizations running more than one site or selling through the platform.
Why teams pair COLAB with Pressable
Good hosting removes a category of problem. It does not remove the need for someone who knows your site.
- One accountable team. We manage the Pressable account through Automattic for Agencies, so when something breaks there is no argument about whether it is a hosting problem or a code problem. One relationship, one place to ask.
- We build so your team can run it. Editors get block patterns and a content model they can use without opening a ticket. Reducing what you depend on us for is the point of the work, not a risk to it.
- Honest platform advice. We also run client sites on Pantheon, Acquia, and WP Engine. If Pressable is the wrong fit for what you are doing, we will say so before the migration rather than after.
- Problems surface early. Plugin conflicts, licensing gaps, integrations that will not survive a move. We raise them while they are still cheap to solve and tell you what the trade-off costs.
- A team that stays. The people who migrate your site are the people who support it afterward. Most of our development relationships run for years, not for one project.
Why we recommend Pressable
Pressable is managed WordPress hosting from Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, and Jetpack. It is built for WordPress and not much else, which is exactly what we want underneath a site we have to keep running for years.
WordPress-first infrastructure
Built for WordPress rather than adapted to it, with auto-scaling, hourly database backups, and staging included on every plan.
Performance by default
A proprietary CDN, edge and server-level caching, and SSD storage, which gives us a faster baseline to tune against.
Uptime you can point to
Geo-redundant cloud architecture behind a published 100% network uptime guarantee, which matters when your board asks.
Round-the-clock platform support
Real people, 24/7, covering malware scanning and removal, the Jetpack security suite, daily file backups, and hourly database backups.
Plans that fit a portfolio
Multisite, WooCommerce, added storage or visits, and Slack-based premium support, priced so running several sites stays reasonable.
Who handles what
The line between hosting and agency work is where most of the confusion lives. Here is how we draw it.
| Area | Pressable handles | COLAB handles |
|---|---|---|
| Uptime and infrastructure | Geo-redundant hosting, 100% network uptime guarantee, automatic failover | Deployment practices and monitoring that make use of it |
| Performance | Global CDN, edge and server-level caching, auto-scaling PHP workers | Theme, query, and asset tuning, benchmarked against field data |
| Environments | Staging, intelligent sync, API-driven provisioning | Git workflow, CI/CD, release process, and QA gates |
| Security and backups | Malware scanning, Jetpack security suite, daily file and hourly database backups | Access policies, hardening, plugin audits, and tested restores |
| Support | 24/7 platform support, optional Slack channel | Roadmap, code review, editor training, and the work inside the site |
| WooCommerce | WooCommerce-optimized infrastructure | Checkout reliability, load testing, and monitoring |
When to bring in a Pressable agency
If two or three of these describe where you are, a conversation is probably worth having.
- Your site runs on Pressable and nobody on staff writes WordPress code
- You are moving off shared hosting or a legacy CMS and want the migration handled rather than attempted
- The agency that built your site has moved on, and updates stopped some time after that without anyone deciding they should
- Pressable support has answered the hosting question and the remaining problem is inside the site
- You are consolidating several sites onto one plan or into a multisite network
- An accessibility audit, a security finding, or a slow page has landed on someone’s desk with nowhere to send it
- Your team can manage content but not releases, and the gap keeps showing up as delay
Pressable Questions
We manage Pressable hosting through Automattic for Agencies, the partner program Automattic runs for agencies working on its platforms. That lets us buy, provision, and administer Pressable plans on your behalf and handle billing and support escalation through one relationship. We are not reselling hosting as a standalone product. Pressable comes bundled with the development and support work we do on the site itself.
Yes, and it is a common way for these relationships to start. We begin with a structured review of the code, the Pressable configuration, the content model, and accessibility, so we know the real condition of what we are taking on. That review occasionally turns up work that has to happen before an ongoing agreement makes sense, and we will tell you if that is the case rather than absorb it without saying so.
No. We build and support WordPress sites on Pantheon, Acquia, WP Engine, and other managed platforms, and we have clients on each. Pressable is what we recommend for a lot of WordPress work because of what it includes on every plan, but the hosting decision should follow the requirements rather than lead them. If Pressable is the wrong fit for your integrations, compliance posture, or traffic profile, we will say so.
We start by inventorying what is actually running: plugins and their licenses, integrations, forms, redirects, DNS, and anything scheduled. The site is rebuilt or moved onto a Pressable staging environment first, where we verify content, functionality, and performance against the current site. Once it holds up, we schedule the cutover with DNS and redirects prepared in advance and stay on it through the propagation window. Most single-site migrations run a few weeks. Networks and stores take longer.
You do. We can hold the account and manage it for you, or you can own it directly and give us access. Either way the code, the content, and the site are yours, and we will hand over documentation and credentials whenever you ask. Building toward the point where you could run it without us is the intent, not a contingency.
Migrations and builds are scoped as projects, priced against the number of sites, the integrations involved, and the condition of the existing code. Ongoing support runs as a monthly retainer sized to how much of the work your team wants to keep in house. Pressable hosting is passed through inside that arrangement rather than marked up as a separate line of business. We give you a number after a scoping conversation, because a number before one would be a guess.
Yes. Pressable runs WooCommerce well, and the work we add on top is mostly about the parts that break under real load: checkout reliability, payment and fulfillment integrations, performance under traffic spikes, and monitoring that tells you about a failed order before a customer does. We load test before a launch or a promotion rather than after.
Yes. A network or a portfolio on a single Pressable plan is one of the clearer reasons to work with an agency rather than site by site. We handle the network architecture, shared themes and pattern libraries, and a release process that lets a change move across sites without being applied by hand eleven times.
Launch is the midpoint of a website, not the end of it. Most of our Pressable clients move onto an ongoing support engagement covering updates, monitoring, accessibility review, bug work down, and iterative improvement. The level is set by how much your team wants to own, and it gets revisited as that changes.

Whether the site is already on Pressable, headed there, or still being decided, a short conversation usually clarifies what the work actually is. Tell us what you are running and what is getting in the way.
